Jeffrey Charles, 26, of Cohasset, Massachusets, was arrested around 342 p.m., Sunday, April 7, after Connecticut State Police stopped his 2007 Volkswagon Jetta northbound on Route 8 in Trumbull for a traffic violation, said the Connecticut State Police.
According to Police, Charles cut across the gore area of the highway, cutting off a black pickup in the process, state police said.
During the stop, officers found probable cause to search the vehicle and during the search uncovered 1.34 pounds of marijuana, a scale, and packaging materials, they said.
Charles was charged with failure to drive in proper lane, possession of drugs and sale of narcotics substance. He was released after posting a $5,000 surety bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court on April 30.
